Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies, LLC is seeking a Quality Inspector to determine quality and reliability, audit internal processes, and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System. You will work day-to-day to maintain high product quality and continuously improve inspection skills.

Responsibilities include guiding production and receiving inspection, performing First Article Inspections, reading customer prints, performing visual, solder, and heat tests, and reporting data to customers.

• Performs first article inspection on production units.
• Reads and securely handles customer prints, work instructions and procedures.
• Performs visual inspections, solder tests, and heat tests.
• Provides support for disposition of non-conforming parts.
• Makes decisions on acceptance of products and tests and trains staff in quality procedures.
• Performs inspections in all areas as needed and schedules data presentation to customers.
• Utilizes sampling plans in inspection duties and enforces quality policies and procedures.

Job description

This position determines quality and reliability requirements and performs internal processes and procedure audits to confirm compliance to the Quality Management System requirements. The quality inspector is expected to work in a day-to-day basis to assure high quality product, and always improving his/her quality inspection skills.

Performance:

Guides production, receiving inspection, test and determines the quality and conformance of products to the specification

• Performs first article inspection on production units
• Ability to read, comprehend and securely handle customers prints, work instructions and procedures.
• Perform visual inspections.
• Able to perform solder test.
• Able to perform heat test.

Daily activities:

Provides support for the disposition of non-conforming parts

• Makes decision relative to the acceptance of products and tests
• Trains individuals in the methods and procedures for the performance of quality related functions
• Performs inspections in all inspection areas as needed
• Performs First Article Inspection on product.
• May witness, perform and/or review tests and test data
• Schedules and presents product and data to customer representatives
• Utilizes applicable sampling plans in the performance of inspection duties
• Enforces quality policies and procedures throughout the organization
• Participates in the daily MDI meetings.

Support for KAIZEN events when required

• Provides feedback that allows for improvements
• Support on 5S's culture (maintenance)
