Job summary

Foresight Finishing/Valence Surface Technologies (Tempe) seeks a 3rd shift Quality Inspector to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and continuously improve inspection skills. The role serves as a mentor to lower-level inspectors while safeguarding product quality.

The position involves first article inspections, reading customer prints, visual and functional tests, and training others. In-person, full-time hours with a 3rd shift schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Lean Basics Training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Guide production, receiving inspection, test and determine quality conformance.
• Perform first article inspection on production units.
• Read and interpret customer prints and work instructions.
• Perform visual inspections and solder/heat tests.
• Train lower-level quality inspectors.
• Provide non-conforming parts disposition.
• Schedule and present product data to customer representatives.
• Use applicable sampling plans in inspection duties.
• Inspect across all inspection areas as needed.

Job Description

This 3rd shift position determines quality and reliability requirements and performs internal processes and procedure audits to confirm compliance to the Quality Management System requirements. The quality inspector is expected to work in a day-to-day basis to assure high quality product and always improving his/her quality inspection skills. The level two inspector serves as a role-model to level one inspectors.

Performance

• Guides production, receiving inspection, test and determines the quality and conformance of products to the specification
• Performs first article inspection on production units
• Ability to read, comprehend and securely handle customers prints, work instructions and procedures.
• Perform visual inspections.
• Able to perform solder test.
• Able to perform heat test.
• Support with training and development of lower-level quality inspectors.

Daily activities

• Provides support for the disposition of non-conforming parts
• Makes decision relative to the acceptance of products and tests
• Trains individuals in the methods and procedures for the performance of quality related functions
• Performs inspections in all inspection areas as needed
• Performs First Article Inspection on product.
• May witness, perform and/or review tests and test data
• Schedules and presents product and data to customer representatives
• Utilizes applicable sampling plans in the performance of inspection duties
