Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an on-site Inspector to operate inspection tooling and perform in-process and final inspections. You will assess components, compressors, valves, electrical assemblies, and complex mechanical/electrical subassemblies for conformance to drawings and specifications.

You will document non-conformities, complete records, and support Kaizen/5S initiatives. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to calibrate test

Qualifications

• Operate inspection measurement tooling.
• Perform in-process and/or final inspection including mechanical, electrical, performance, leak testing and appearance of categories: components, compressors, valves, electrical assemblies.
• Ensure non-conformities are explained and corrected.
• Complete inspection records and reject material reports.

Responsibilities

• Determine conformance to drawings, PO, specs, and test procedures.
• Perform material handling related to the job.
• Operate and calibrate test equipment as required.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment per 5S standards.
• Record time, quality, quantity and other metrics.
• Participate in Kaizen, 5S and problem-solving teams.

Job Description

• Operate inspection measurement tooling.
• Perform in-process and/or final inspection including mechanical, electrical, performance, leak testing and appearance of the following categories; A. Component machining, forming or welding B. Compressors, air units, vessels, valves C. Electrical assemblies and components D. Any complex mechanical and electrical assembly of discrete smaller assemblies and components
• Ensures that individuals responsible for non-conformities are constructively educated as to the nature of the non-conformity and the correction required for acceptance.
• Responsibility for completion of appropriate inspection records.
• Determine conformance or non-conformance to drawing, purchase order. Engineering specs, test procedures, etc. as applicable.
• Completion of rejected material reports and inspection tags.
• Perform necessary material handling associated with the job.
• Operate and calibrate test equipment as required.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment according to 5S standards.
• Maintain necessary time, quality, quantity and other records.
• May be called upon to participate within special work teams performing various team related duties. Including Kaizen events, 5S programs and problem solving exercises.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures and JHRA’s.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $30.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
