Insight Global is seeking an experienced PT6 Engine Overhaul Inspector to join its Quality Assurance and Engine Overhaul team in Terre Haute, Indiana. This highly visible role ensures engine airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and overhaul quality throughout the repair process.

The inspector will work alongside experienced turbine engine mechanics, quality personnel, and leadership, contributing to safety, precision, and professional growth in a rapidly expanding facility focused on PT6

Qualifications

  • FAA Powerplant certificate preferred.
  • 5+ years powerplant experience; PT6A engines preferred.
  • 1+ year as Aircraft Engine Inspector in turbine engine/MRO.
  • Experience performing receiving, in-process, final, and quality inspections.
  • Strong understanding of FAA maintenance regulations, inspection procedures, and airworthiness requirements.
  • Ability to read/interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, service bulletins, and data.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, depth gauges, dial indicators).
  • Ability to determine component serviceability and document inspection findings.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with mechanics, supervisors, and quality teams.
  • Pass background screening and drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, dimensional, assembly, and final inspections on PT6 engine components and assemblies.
  • Review maintenance documentation and work packages for compliance.
  • Determine component serviceability and document inspection findings.
  • Verify compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer requirements; resolve discrepancies with technicians.
  • Contribute to the release-to-service decisions and ensure airworthiness and quality standards.

Job description

  • FAA Powerplant Mechanic Certificate (A&P strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years powerplant experience, preferably with P&W PT6A Engines
  • 1+ years of experience as an Aircraft Engine Inspector in a turbine engine, jet engine, overhaul, repair, or MRO environment
  • Experience performing receiving, in-process, final, and quality inspections on turbine engine components and assemblies
  • Strong understanding of FAA maintenance regulations, inspection procedures, quality systems, and airworthiness requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, engineering drawings, service bulletins, and approved technical data
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, depth gauges, and dial indicators (will be provided)
  • Ability to determine component serviceability and accurately document inspection findings
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with mechanics, supervisors, and quality teams
  • Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing
Plusses
  • Direct Pratt & Whitney PT6A engine experience including modules, hot section components, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and accessories
  • Knowledge of FAA Part 43 and Part 145 regulations
  • Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney Canada maintenance and overhaul manuals
  • Experience with discrepancy reporting, nonconformance systems, corrective actions, and quality management processes
  • Experience supporting release-to-service activities and final airworthiness inspections

A growing FAA-regulated aircraft engine overhaul facility specializing in Pratt & Whitney PT6 turboprop engines is seeking an experienced PT6 Engine Overhaul Inspector to join its Quality Assurance and Engine Overhaul team in Terre Haute, Indiana. This is a highly visible position responsible for ensuring engine airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and overhaul quality standards throughout the repair process.

The Inspector will work alongside experienced turbine engine mechanics, quality personnel, and leadership within a professional overhaul environment focused on safety, precision, and long-term growth.
