Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Manufacturing Engineer, Inspection (Starship Machining) to own inspection plans, optimize CMM programming, fixturing, and workflow, and drive manufacturability improvements for Starship hardware in the machine shop.

You will collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to improve inspection repeatability and meet flight production rates, while working extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or physics.
• 1+ years of machine shop, manufacturing, quality, and/or inspection experience (student project team or internship qualifies).
• Experience with precision metrology hardware and GD&T principles.

Responsibilities

• Determine inspection plans for machined components to ensure quality while optimizing cycle time and reliability.
• Improve inspection processes, reduce CMM inspection times via programming, fixturing, and workflow optimization.
• Drive non-conformance management and standardize rework guides to improve throughput.
