Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Line Lead to supervise an Inspection Center team, ensuring safe handling of vehicles and meeting production and quality targets. You will coach, develop and manage hourly associates while enforcing Carvana’s standards and safety policies.

In this role you’ll monitor daily workflows, drive continuous improvement, and communicate expectations clearly to the team, contributing to a fast-paced, high-quality inventory process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience using computers.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrated functional expertise in Carvana’s reconditioning process.
• Demonstrated understanding of lean principles.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
• Requires standing for extended periods in a potentially harsh environment.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center safely while meeting production and quality goals.
• Meet or exceed inventory production goals daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Oversee day-to-day activities of the assigned team and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Engage the team with coaching, development, and performance management; provide feedback.
• Create a work environment that supports positive communication and teamwork while adhering to Carvana’s values.
• Proactively communicate expectations, performance measures, and goals to team members.
• Prevent and resolve conflicts among team members.
• Monitor adherence to systems, policies, procedures and performance standards.
• Review and approve identified mechanical and physical defects of incoming inventory.
• Lead a team with the Inspection Center GM to repair or reject inventory based on costs and quality.
• Train team using Quality Control standards to minimize re-checks and delays.
• Identify and complete repairs effectively the first time to minimize re-work and delays.
• Maintain safety to reduce injury risks in the shop.
• Effectively manage multiple associates and their development.
