What will you do?

The individual will learn and demonstrate a working understanding of real-time PCR / qPCR workflows in laboratory practice. Experience in other genetic analysis methods is a plus but not required. Successful applicants will be trained in Professional Selling Skills (PSS) to enhance sales and strategic selling effectiveness. They will develop telephone selling skills to build rapport and consultative relationships with customers, using Thermo Fisher Scientific’s products to address customer needs, win orders, and grow our business. Responsibilities include maintaining existing business, cold calling to develop new accounts, and participating in product and system training, marketing campaigns, and special projects. New hires will undergo onboarding, sales skills training, and ongoing development throughout the year.

Key responsibilities
  • Achieve or exceed sales, profit, and market share goals within budgetary guidelines.
  • Make daily outbound calls to decision-makers across accounts.
  • Prospect and develop new customer relationships in the clinical laboratory space.
  • Expand testing menus in areas such as Pharmacogenomics, infectious disease, and oncology.
  • Develop genetic analysis knowledge to deliver effective sales presentations.
  • Communicate competitor activities, market trends, and customer directions.
  • Implement a territory plan to grow business.
  • Analyze data sources to identify high-ROI sales opportunities.
  • Support marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Complete tasks and reports efficiently to optimize selling time.
Skills you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
  • Passion for making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
  • Hands-on laboratory, selling, or related experience preferred.
  • Goal-oriented mindset and growth orientation.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work cross-functionally.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated hourly pay range in California is $36.00–$49.00. The position may be eligible for a variable bonus. Our Total Rewards package includes health plans, PTO, holidays, parental leave, insurance, retirement plans, and stock purchase options. For more details, visit Total Rewards.
