Farwest Steel in Stockton, CA seeks an Inside Sales Representative to develop quotes, enter orders, and provide inventory availability and lead times to customers. You will offer solutions by utilizing all Farwest divisions and ensure timely follow-up on quotes and orders.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong computer skills, and the ability to read blueprints. Prior sales experience, teamwork, and professional communication are essential, with college degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• College degree in related field preferred.
• Past sales experience helpful for success in this role.
• Experience in steel, construction, or manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and convert quotes to orders after checking inventory and confirming feasibility.
• Read back items carefully to the customer.
• Ensure accuracy when converting quotes to orders.
• Handle data entry of quotes and orders.
• Educate customers on depth of services and breadth of inventory across Farwest divisions.
• Communicate capabilities to outside vendors to ensure customer success.
• Follow up on quotes/orders for pricing, quality, and delivery feedback.
• Check with credit department for high-dollar or rush orders.
• Track and acknowledge changes to orders and revisions.

About this position

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite

Schedule: 8:00am to 5:00PM, Monday - Friday

Wage: $24.00 - $32.50 depending on experience

Farwest’s Stockton location seeks a knowledgeable and dependable individual to join their team as Inside Sales Representative. In this role, you will develop customer requests for distribution quotations and orders. Create quotes, enter orders, and provide inventory availability and lead time information to customers. Provide service solutions to customers by utilizing all Divisions of Farwest Steel.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and convert quotes to orders after checking inventory levels and confirming with customers that processes and services will meet or exceed requirements.
2. Listen carefully prior to reading all items back to the customer.
3. Ensure order writing accuracy when the quote is converted to an order.
4. Responsible for all data entry of customer quotes and orders.
5. Educate customers on depth of services and breadth of inventory at various divisions of Farwest Steel Corporation.
6. Communicate processing capabilities and expectations to outside vendors, always offering quality metal solutions to ensure customer success.
7. Timely follow up on all quotes and orders for feedback on pricing, quality and delivery information.
8. Check with the credit department regarding current status of a customer’s account if a high dollar order or rush order is placed.
9. Track and acknowledge any changes to the order and verify revisions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Computer experience is a required skill

• Ability to work in a team environment within our company
• Courteous professional conduct required with customers and co-workers
• Able to adapt to different social settings, perform routine office support, understand written and oral instruction, and make accurate mathematical calculations
