Looking for a motivated Salesperson to join DFSI. Responsibilities include generating sales in the Providence, RI territory to expand the customer base. Key tasks involve developing new business relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and overseeing project execution. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills required. As a local salesperson, you will be responsible for generating new business, maintaining client relationships and meeting sales targets.
Job Description
- Sales Generation – Expand Customer Base
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within designated territory
- Build pipeline
- Develop relationships within the community
- Follow up on Website generated leads
- Sign up and complete qualifications for local municipal bid opportunities
- Sign up and complete qualifications for General Contractor new build Opportunities
- Track and Manage opportunities for sales and marketing:
- Follow up with estimating to ensure timely response
- Track project including supply chain to ensure we are communicating schedule and expectations
- Enter leads in CRM database (track in excel until live on CRM).
- Build LinkedIn contacts (local) and share posts.
- Add Email address to CRM for eblasts.
- Add address for direct mail opportunities.
- Follow up on all sales leads/opportunities to understand the opportunity.
- Customer credit check
- Collaborate with both Estimating (business development team) and Service Management team throughout the project.
- Conduct Site visits as required for needs assessment
- Develop Project Scope and review with customer before submitting to estimating
- Prepare and present proposal to customer timely
- Prepare and present proposals to customer.
- If quote not accepted, understand why and document so we can evaluate.

Qualifications
- Sales and Business Development Experience: Demonstrated experience and success in sales and business development, preferably in a related industry. Proven ability to generate leads, build relationships, and drive sales growth.
- Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in scoping project requirements, sourcing materials, and producing accurate estimates.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. Ability to articulate complex information, negotiate quotes, and provide excellent customer service.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to track and analyze sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Ability to solve problems efficiently, anticipate challenges, and proactively address issues that may arise during the sales and project management process.
- Leadership and Team Management: Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a sales team. Experience setting sales targets, managing incentives, and providing guidance and support to achieve goals. Ability to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Sales and Business Development: Proven ability to develop new business relationships, identify sales opportunities, and drive sales growth. Track and follow up on leads to maximize conversion rates.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring scope, timelines, and deliverables are met. Ability to survey sites, understand project requirements, source materials, and produce accurate estimates.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted advisor. Provide excellent customer service, address inquiries, and answer questions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Communication and Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. Negotiate quotes and agreements, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and company objectives.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Regularly track and analyze sales and marketing data to identify trends, evaluate conversion rates, and contribute to the improvement of sales strategies. Document customer feedback to assess reasons for quote rejections and make necessary adjustments.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate a sales team, setting sales quotas, managing compensation and incentives, and providing guidance to achieve targets. Foster a supportive work environment that encourages career advancement and excellence.
