Job summary

KURZ USA is seeking a Project Coordinator to drive new product development from award to production and beyond. You will coordinate across Sales, Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure cost, quality, timing, and functional objectives are met for film decoration projects within the US, Germany, and China.

The role requires managing APQP deliverables, PPAP submissions, and OEM/Tier customer communication, tracking milestones, and leading cross-functional reviews. Travel about 5–10%.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary project interface, driving cross functional alignment and maintaining project timing, deliverables, and communication.
  • Obtain precise OEM/Tier customer requirements and ensure internal teams are aligned on expectations and deadlines.
  • Monitor project status, identify obstacles, escape risks, and facilitate timely issue resolution.
  • Lead regular project review meetings and maintain project dashboards, timelines, and status reports.
  • Manage APQP deliverables across all phases, ensuring on time completion of FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and validation activities.
  • Coordinate internal development tasks including sample builds, film production trials, external part trials, mastering, and appearance approval.
  • Lead physical property validation by arranging test plaques and coordinating specification testing.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and support PPAP submissions (Level 3 preferred), ensuring compliance with OEM/Tier requirements.
  • Coordinate IMDS submissions and support customer quality activities including RTV reviews and issue resolution.
  • Review and negotiate customer documents such as Terms & Conditions, Quality Agreements, and packaging specifications.
  • Set up new customers and products within company systems, including Finance and Sales modules.
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, and communication logs.
  • Expected travel requirement: approximately 5 to 10%.

Job description

The Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in driving new product development activities throughout the lifecycle of projects, from business award to production launch and beyond. Responsible for overseeing film decoration development deliverables related to cost, quality, timing, and functional objectives, the Coordinator ensures successful project delivery to our customers coordinating across internal teams within KURZ (spanning the US, Germany, and China) by integrating Sales, Engineering, Production, and Quality disciplines.

  • Serve as the primary project interface, driving cross functional alignment and maintaining project timing, deliverables, and communication.
  • Obtain precise OEM/Tier customer requirements and ensure internal teams are aligned on expectations and deadlines.
  • Monitor project status, identify obstacles, escape risks, and facilitate timely issue resolution.

  • Pro actively coordinate internal teams relating to product development activities (eg. sample making; internal film production trials; external part trials; mastering and appearance approval)
  • Review and negotiate customer documents such as Purchasing Terms & Conditions, Quality agreements, and packaging specifications.
  • Set up new customers and products within company systems, including Finance and Sales modules.
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, and communication logs.
  • Expected travel requirement: approximately 5 to 10%.

Skills And Abilities
  • Communication: comfortable and confident to coordinate multi disciplinary teams
  • Problem Solving: experience with '8D' methodology for investigating concerns including root cause analysis, containment and corrective action steps
  • Work Environment: flexible and self driven to excel within a small team
  • Organization: preparation and planning skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with APQP/product development.
