Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies seeks a Customer Service Support Representative (CSSR) to be the primary contact for customers via phone and email. You will handle order inquiries, quotes, product questions, and account support, with inside-sales emphasis and training provided on our fluid power lines.

The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to learn quickly, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Prior hydraulics experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree a plus.
• 1+ years of customer service, inside sales, or call center experience.
• Experience with hydraulics, fluid power, or industrial products preferred but not required.
• Strong phone etiquette and verbal/written communication skills.
• Comfortable learning and using order entry, CRM, or ERP software.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first attitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound customer calls and emails regarding orders, pricing, availability, and account status.
• Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner using Prophet 21.
• Prepare and follow up on quotes for any and all parts and services provided.
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions, escalating technical questions as needed.
• Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, and outside sales teams to resolve order issues and delivery questions.
• Maintain accurate customer records and order documentation in the CRM/ERP system.
• Proactively follow up with customers on open quotes and orders to support sales goals.
• Handle customer complaints or escalations professionally and work toward timely resolution.
• Stay current on product offerings, promotions, and pricing through internal training.
