Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years in building material industry and basic knowledge of products required.
• 1–3 years inside sales experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of inventory and construction materials.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, prices and quotations, complaints, and scheduling of deliveries and installations.
• Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales.
• Enter work orders, credit returns, returns authorizations, pick tickets, and service requests; file paperwork accordingly.
• Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products; obtain pricing specifications and availability.
• Manage schedules for projects by coordinating with outside sales, jobsites, and assigned customers.
• Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
• Research credits, returns, and late payments as needed.
• Check back orders and resolve issues; resolve billing problems and compile data for closing.
• Handle special orders and pricing; assist with pricing and price lists.
• Develop and grow professional relationships with customers.
• Resolve jobsite issues and customer problems.
