Job summary

Singer Industrial in Portland, OR is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to deliver customer service, process orders, and grow key accounts. This on-site, full-time role requires a can-do attitude, strong numerical skills, and the ability to learn our manufacturing processes to accurately quote products and timelines.

You will work with the Outside Sales team, build relationships, resolve customer inquiries, and enter data into our MRP system with meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication with all levels of staff and customers.
• Interest in learning manufacturing processes and products.
• Experience in a fast-paced sales environment is preferred.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues with situational analysis.
• Proficient data entry and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert for customers, products, pricing, and timelines.
• Learn plant operations and communicate up-to-date information to customers.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and trust.
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
• Coordinate with Outside Sales to service customers and support telemarketing.
• Resolve calls with patience and confidentiality.
• Enter data into the MRP system with high attention to detail.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Unisource Manufacturing is seeking a motivated self-starter with excellent multi-tasking, customer service, attention to detail, and communication skills to join out team as an Inside Sales Representative. Must have an aptitude for numbers and the drive to learn about the manufacturing process to appropriately communicate with customers. This is an on-site role with a full-time schedule, Monday-Friday.

What you will do

• Operate as the subject matter expert for all customers, products, pricing, manufacturing timelines and our high-quality customer service strategy for products.
• Continuously learn on an ongoing basis and obverse plant operations to accurately speak to all customers, products, pricing, and manufacturing timelines to up-to-date knowledge.
• Build and maintain customer relationships, developing trust and dependability.
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
• Coordinate with the Outside Sales team to service specific customers, assist with special projects, and telemarketing.
• Resolve calls with potentially upset or confused customers with patience, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Completes data entry in a manufacturing MRP system with a high concern to attention to detail
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of communicating with all levels of personnel and customers
• Ability and interest in learning extensive information regarding industrial manufacturing, and capable of discussing information
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, activity-based sales environment
• Be capable of identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner, utilizing situational analysis and understanding when to elevate appropriately.
• Comfortable working on computers, and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and capable of data entry
• Capable of adapting to changes in the work environment with competing demands and unexpected task assignments
• Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations
• Ability to efficiently prioritize and plan work activities and develop realistic action plans
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Responds to management direction and feedback appropriately, and solicit feedback proactively
• Ability to communicate and work professionally with other employees, sales, management, and outside clients
• 2 years prior experience in Sales and customer service
• Prior experience in industrial manufacturing is a plus
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• High school diploma, or equivalent

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to navigate the warehouse environment floor and observe operations for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to work in both an office and warehouse environment with changes in temperature, heat, noise, and metal materials
