Job summary

Austin Hose is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to provide knowledgeable, professional customer service, process orders, and upsell products in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage orders from quote to invoice, verify stock and ship dates, and collaborate with outside sales to ensure timely delivery while maintaining outstanding service levels. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in customer service or inside sales, strong Excel skills, and the ability to learn Prophet 21.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3+ years’ experience in Customer Service or Inside Sales preferred.
• Ability to learn Austin Hose warehouse and delivery methods, techniques, and procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and basic Prophet 21 navigation.

Inside Sales Representative

Job Summary:

Responsible to be knowledgeable and educated in our company products and service. Provide professional, accurate, and excellent customer service. Speak clearly, politely, and respectfully to all customers. Promptly answer customer calls and respond timely to all emails and inquiries.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Sell company products and services to customers by processing orders, price and delivery inquiries, providing technical and application information, soliciting customer orders and suggesting additional products in a fast multi-tasking environment.
• Maintains responsibility of orders from quote to invoice.
• Select and specify a variety of products utilizing a variety of vendors.
• Process customers’ orders and send requested order acknowledgements.
• Review customer purchase orders for special conditions/documentations.
• Check availability and verify ship date.
• Increase order size by suggesting related items, explaining features, and checking customer’s buying history.
• Process and expedite orders, customer returns and returns to vendors in an accurate and timely manner.
• Works closely with outside salesman in soliciting business, executing order transactions and maintaining superior customer service levels.
• Works closely with buyers to locate product and ensure timely delivery.
• Communicates effectively and participates positively as a member of the inside sales team.
• Review open customer order report and take action on open items in a timely manner; specifically, those items that may at risk in meeting the customer’s promised delivery date.
• Willingness to be flexible, including working overtime, and performing responsibilities not specifically identified in the job description and assuming new responsibilities for the betterment of Austin Hose.

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• 1‑3+ years’ experience in Customer Service related Industry and Inside Sales preferred.
• Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with Austin Hose warehouse and delivery methods, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to use MS Office, proficiency in MS Excel and basic understanding and navigation of Prophet 21 setup and maintenance.
• Familiarity with pricing scheme and suppliers
• Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner and listen attentively to others and understands material.
• Strong verbal, written, mathematical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship with customers, co‑workers, supervisors, management and various personnel.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers/peers/supervisors.
• Attentive to detail and ensure accuracy in customer orders.
• Must be able to pass drug test.
