Job summary

The Service Company in Springfield, Ohio is hiring an Inside Parts Sales Specialist to support technicians, customers, and the outside sales team. You will locate parts, confirm pricing and availability, and help keep the entire parts operation moving.

Role involves counter and phone sales, collaboration with technicians, and occasional parts deliveries. Starting pay is $20.00–$23.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy-duty truck, automotive, equipment, or parts preferred.
• Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn different parts/product lines.
• Comfort with computers, electronic catalogs, vendor websites, and inventory systems.
• Able to talk to customers and explain things clearly without making them feel rushed.
• Able to juggle several priorities in a busy environment.
• Strong attention to detail to avoid wrong parts.
• Takes ownership and works independently or with a team as needed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and may deliver parts occasionally.

That’s where you come in.

The Service Company is looking for an Inside Parts Sales Specialist for our Springfield location. We need someone who can find the right part, take care of the customer, support our technicians and outside salesperson, and help keep an entire parts department moving.

This isn’t a job where you’ll spend all day doing one thing.

One minute you might be helping a customer at the counter. The next you’re tracking down a hard-to-find truck part, checking on a backorder, receiving a shipment, helping a technician get what they need, or making sure an outside sales order gets out the door.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You’ll have your hands in just about every part of our Springfield parts operation:

• Sell heavy-duty truck, trailer, and related parts to customers at the counter and over the phone.
• Help customers identify the right parts and provide pricing and availability.
• Support our outside salesperson with parts lookups, sourcing, orders, and customer needs.
• Work directly with our technicians and service department to source the parts needed to complete repairs.
• Use electronic parts catalogs, vendor websites, and lookup systems to find the right part—even when it’s not an easy one.
• Keep customers informed about orders, backorders, substitutions, pricing, and availability.
• Coordinate with our delivery team to make sure orders are accurate and get where they need to go.
• Receive and verify incoming parts and inventory.
• Put inventory away and maintain accurate bin locations.
• Process cores, warranties, and customer/vendor returns.
• Perform cycle counts and help maintain accurate inventory.
• Keep shelving, bins, the warehouse, and the parts department organized.
• Occasionally deliver parts to customers or between company locations.
• Work with technicians, service staff, salespeople, drivers, vendors, and customers to keep jobs moving.

• Can juggle several priorities when the phone is ringing, a technician needs a part, a customer is waiting, and a delivery just showed up.
• Pays attention to details because the wrong part doesn’t help anybody.
• Takes ownership instead of saying, “That’s not my job.”\
• Can work independently but knows how to be part of a team.
• Is dependable, organized, and willing to jump in wherever needed.
• Has a valid driver’s license and can occasionally make parts deliveries.
