General Dynamics - IT is seeking an Inside/Outside Cable Plant Technician II to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems at a customer site. The role requires 3+ years of related experience and an AA/AS, with secret clearance expectations.

You will work on inside/outside cable plant projects, installing ducts, conduits, fiber and copper cabling, patch panels, and distribution frames. A lead-level capability is valued for on-site tasks.

HOW A Inside/Outside Cable Plant Technician II WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Performs installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.
• Leverage a Lead level of experience to perform inside/outside cable plant work.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: AA/AS
• Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience
• Required Technical Skills: Installation of ducts and conduits, pulling cables, and terminating, testing, splicing, and repairing interior and outside copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling Installation of fiber optic modems, fiber multiplex equipment, fiber patch panels, analog and digital copper patch panels, main and intermediate distribution frames, Installation of lightning protection and supporting ground and power connections Installation of cabinets, cable ladder and rack systems, and equipment components in the cabinets
• Security Clearance Level: SECRET
• Required Skills and Abilities: Experience with the operation of heavy equipment as specified in the task order to include: track excavator-changeable scoop/hydraulic jackhammer, standard backhoe, bobcat, cable reel truck, and 20K all- terrain forklift
• Location: On Customer Site
• US Citizenship Required

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

• Must have intermediate level of experience in the following inside/outside cable plant work: Installation of ducts and conduits, pulling cables, and terminating, testing, splicing, and repairing interior and outside copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling Installation of fiber optic modems, fiber multiplex equipment, fiber patch panels, analog and digital copper patch panels, main and intermediate distribution frames, Installation of lightning protection and supporting ground and power connections Installation of cabinets, cable ladder and rack systems, and equipment components in the cabinets

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with the operation of heavy equipment as specified in the task order to include: track excavator-changeable scoop/hydraulic jackhammer, standard backhoe, bobcat, cable reel truck, and 20K all- terrain forklift
