Job summary

Electric Motor & Contracting Co., Inc. in Hampton Roads, Virginia, is seeking multiple Manual Machinists on first and second shift to manufacture and repair precision parts.

You will operate milling machines, lathes, boring mills, grinders, and overhead cranes, perform inspections, and complete paperwork while meeting tight tolerances. The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong communication, physical ability, and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays; drug and background

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating milling machines, lathes, boring mills, and grinders.
• Must be able to work with extremely close tolerances (e.g. .0005" to .001").
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Physically able to safely operate equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand/kneel for long periods.
• On-call 24/7/365; overtime including weekends/holidays as needed.

Manual Machinists

We are currently seeking multiple Manual Machinistson first shift and second shift.

Job Description:

• Manufacture and make repairs per instructions and/or drawings
• Operate all machine shop equipment
• Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging
• Perform incoming and outgoing inspections
• Properly fill out all paperwork

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating milling machines, lathes, boring mills, and grinders
• Must have ability to work with extremely close tolerances (example: .0005" to .001") and meet allotted timeframes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be physically able to safely operate equipment, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and capable of standing/stooping/kneeling for long periods of time.
• We are a service industry on call to our customers 24/7/365. To meet our customer's needs, employees must be able to work overtime as needed, including extended hours outside of assigned shift. This also includes weekends/holidays.
