Job summary

Gulf Marine Repair Corporation in Tampa, FL is hiring a full-time Inside Manual Machinist to join our shipyard team. You will assemble, install and repair ship machinery, align and test machines using lathes, milling machines, shapers and grinders to meet specifications.

Qualifications

• 3 years of machining experience (preferred).
• General knowledge about ships and machinery.
• Ability to align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Ability to read micrometers with low tolerance.
• Ability to run all inside shop equipment in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ability to prepare written mechanical evaluations.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Have basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, modify and repair ship machinery and systems.
• Set up, service, repair, align and test machines to meet manufacturer specifications.
• Use precision tooling to repair machine parts and improve setup efficiency.
