HTI is seeking a highly skilled machinist in Goose Creek, SC to set up and operate a range of machine tools including CNC and manual lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders. You will read blueprints, select tooling, and execute machining sequences to tight tolerances.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of related experience, formal apprenticeship or an Associate’s Degree, and a background in heavy manufacturing or shipbuilding environments.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 5+ years of machining or related education/experience.
• Completion of formal apprenticeship or an Associate’s Degree with 3+ years of machining experience.
• Experience in mid- to large-scale industrial machining environments (heavy manufacturing, shipbuilding, power generation, aerospace, or similar).
• Strong CNC machining experience and ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Experience holding tight tolerances on precision components.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders.
• Machine metal parts, tools, mechanisms, and assemblies to exact tolerances and specs.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings to determine machining sequence and setup.
• Determine number of cuts, tooling, feeds, and speeds for each job.
• Perform shop math and layout work including measuring, marking, and scribing.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
• Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment.
• Modify NC programs as needed.
• Monitor and verify quality using SPC and other quality procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
