Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification may be required.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders) to produce metal parts to exact tolerances.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specs to determine operation sequence and tooling.
• Select feeds, speeds and tooling; measure and verify dimensions with precision instruments.
• May modify NC programs and verify quality using statistical or other control procedures.
