Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an Inside Machinist to set up and operate CNC and manual machines, including lathes, mills, and wire EDM, in a fast-growth environment. You will read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and measure parts with precision tools while documenting work accurately.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, up to 5 years of CNC experience, and the ability to train on all shifts. Safety-first mindset and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent technical experience.
• 0–5 years of CNC machining setup, programming, or operation experience.
• Must be able to work all shifts.

Responsibilities

• Setup and machine components on manual and CNC lathes, mills, horizontal boring machines, multi-axis machining centers, and wire EDM.
• Accurately measure part dimensions using precision tools.
• Complete hard-copy and electronic documentation.
• Work with little to no supervision.

We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Inside Machinist Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines.

Job Responsibilities:

• The setup and machining of components on manual and CNC lathes, mills, Horizontal Boring machines, multi axis machining centers, wire EDM etc.
• Precision measurement of part dimensions.
• Completion of hard-copy and electronic documentation.
• Work with little to no supervisory experience.
• You must be able to work and train on all shifts.

Qualifications

Required:

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or have 2+ years related technical experience
• 0-5 years of experience with CNC Machining set-up, Programming, or Operating Machines
• Must be able to work all shifts

Preferred:

• Technical School education
