Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an Inside Machinist to set up and machine components on manual and CNC lathes, mills and other multi-axis equipment. You will read blueprints, measure parts with precision, document results, and contribute across shifts in a growing submarine program.

The role demands strong shop math, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset, with training available on all shifts. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or 2+ years relevant technical experience.
• 5+ years of experience with CNC Machining, set-up, Programming, or Operating Machines.
• Must be able to read blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:

The Inside Machinist is responsible for:

• Setup and machining of components on manual and CNClathes, mills, Horizontal Boring machines, multi axis machining centers, wire EDM etc.

You must be able to work and train on all shifts

Qualifications

Required:

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or 2+ years relevant technical experience

• Must know how to read blueprints

Preferred:

• Technical School education
