Job summary

Child Care Resources Inc is seeking a skilled counter sales professional to serve our customer base of professional contractors, industrial accounts, and resale customers at our tool and supply counter. The right candidate brings strong product knowledge and offers expert, practical advice on the tools needed to get the job done.

You will greet customers, help select products, handle inbound quotes and orders by email, and process transactions in the POS, coordinating with the warehouse for

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read and write clearly and be computer literate.
• Must be able to perform basic math and use a calculator.
• Experience in our industry is preferred but not required.
• Good communication skills are necessary.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long hours and walk stairs.
• Must possess mechanical aptitude.
• Neat and groomed appearance at work is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Greet walk-in customers and provide exceptional service at the sales counter.
• Assist customers in selecting the right products and solutions for their applications.
• Receive and handle inbound sales calls, quotes, and orders submitted by email.
• Process orders, quotes, returns, and payments accurately in the POS system.
• Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure timely order fulfillment and pickup.
• Notify customers when their orders are ready for pickup.
• Assist with loading customer purchases as needed.
• Maintain counter/showroom displays and ensure merchandise is stocked and priced.
• Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.

About This Role

Seeking a skilled counter sales professional to serve our customer base of professional contractors, industrial accounts, and resale customers at our industrial-grade tool and supply counter. The right candidate brings strong product knowledge and the ability to give customers expert, practical advice on the tools and equipment they need to get the job done.

What You'll Do

• Greet walk-in customers and provide exceptional service at the sales counter
• Assist customers in selecting the right products and technical solutions for their applications
• Receive and handle inbound sales calls, along with quotes and orders submitted by email
• Process orders, quotes, returns, and payments accurately in the POS system
• Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely order fulfillment and will-call pickup
• Notify customers when their orders are ready for pickup
• Assist with loading customer purchases as needed
• Maintain counter and showroom displays, keeping merchandise well-stocked and organized
• Update pricing on retail showroom items as needed
• Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift

Requirements

• Must be at least High School or equivalent graduate and be able to read and write clearly.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must know how to add and subtract and do basic math and use a calculator.
• Experience in our industry is preferred but not required.
• Good communication skills are necessary.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to work on your feet many hours a day.
• Must be able to go up and down stairs.
• Must posses mechanical aptitude.
• Neat and groomed appearance at work necessary.

Nice to Have

A college degree is not required, but is very useful, as is sales training and industry experience. Additionally, a desire to learn and grow, along with a willingness to pitch in and help whenever needed, would make a candidate a strong fit for this role.
