Job summary

Acquire4Hire is seeking a skilled counter sales professional to serve our contractor, industrial, and resale customers at our tool and supply counter. You will provide expert, practical advice on tools and equipment to get the job done.

Greet customers, assist with product selections, process quotes and orders, and coordinate with the warehouse for timely fulfillment. This full-time role offers benefits including vacation, sick pay, health insurance, and a 401K.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be computer literate.
• Basic math and calculator use experience required.
• Industry experience preferred but not required.
• Good communication skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long hours and navigate stairs.
• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Neat and groomed appearance required.

Responsibilities

• Greet walk-in customers and provide exceptional service at the sales counter.
• Assist customers in selecting products and technical solutions for their applications.
• Receive inbound sales calls and process quotes and orders submitted by email.
• Process orders, quotes, returns, and payments in the POS system.
• Coordinate with warehouse to ensure timely order fulfillment and will-call pickup.
• Notify customers when orders are ready for pickup.
• Assist with loading customer purchases as needed.
• Maintain counter/showroom displays and keep merchandise stocked and organized.
• Update pricing on retail showroom items as needed.
• Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.

What You’ll Do

• Greet walk-in customers and provide exceptional service at the sales counter
• Assist customers in selecting the right products and technical solutions for their applications
• Receive and handle inbound sales calls, along with quotes and orders submitted by email
• Process orders, quotes, returns, and payments accurately in the POS system
• Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely order fulfillment and will-call pickup
• Notify customers when their orders are ready for pickup
• Assist with loading customer purchases as needed
• Maintain counter and showroom displays, keeping merchandise well-stocked and organized

Requirements

• Must be at least High School or equivalent graduate and be able to read and write clearly.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must know how to add and subtract and do basic math and use a calculator.
• Experience in our industry is preferred but not required.
• Good communication skills are necessary.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to work on your feet many hours a day.
• Must be able to go up and down stairs.
• Must posses mechanical aptitude.
• Neat and groomed appearance at work necessary.

Nice To Haves

A college degree is not required, but is very useful, as is sales training and industry experience. Additionally, a desire to learn and grow, along with a willingness to pitch in and help whenever needed, would make a candidate a strong fit for this role.
