Job summary

Marvin's is hiring an Inside Commercial Sales team member to help contractors, builders, and commercial customers find the right products for their projects. You’ll build relationships, provide product recommendations, create and manage sales orders, and ensure great service from start to finish.

This role focuses on sales, customer service, problem-solving, and product knowledge in building materials. You’ll be part of a team delivering solutions and contributing to customer satisfaction daily.

Qualifications

• Retail sales or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to learn products and confidently make recommendations.
• Comfortable using a computer, phone, email, and POS system.
• Good math, reading, and writing skills.

As an Inside Commercial Sales team member, you’ll help contractors, builders, and other commercial customers find the right products for their projects. You’ll build customer relationships, provide product recommendations, create and manage sales orders, and make sure customers receive great service from start to finish.

What You'll Do

• Welcome customers and understand their project needs.
• Recommend products and solutions based on customer needs.
• Build relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.
• Answer customer questions in person, by phone, and by email.
• Create sales and special orders accurately using our point-of-sale system.
• Follow up on orders and work with suppliers and team members to resolve issues.
• Look up pricing, product information, and availability.
• Let customers know about new products, promotions, and other opportunities.
• Keep your sales area stocked, organized, clean, and ready for customers.
• Assist with inventory counts, stocking, merchandising, and customer loading as needed.
• Identify and report pricing, product, or inventory issues.
• Follow company safety and loss-prevention procedures.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, organized, and comfortable talking with customers.

• Previous retail sales, inside sales, customer service, or related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using a computer, phone, email, and point-of-sale system.
• Ability to learn products and confidently make recommendations.
• Good math, reading, and writing skills.
• Knowledge of lumber, building materials, hardware, or home improvement products is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. You must be able to lift and move merchandise up to 100 lbs., load customer purchases, climb ladders, reach merchandise above six feet, and safely move throughout the store.
