Job summary

Moore in Topeka, KS seeks an insert operator to set up, load, unload, maintain and troubleshoot inserting machines to produce accurate work on a timely basis.

You will conduct quality checks, load mailings, operate equipment, band material, tag trays, and perform other duties as required in a busy mail production environment.

Qualifications

• Must read and write English and perform basic math.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Place pieces of mailings into the hoppers of the inserting machines by the handful.
• Set up and operate the inserting machine to optimum performance.
• Remove inserted envelopes and place in trays.
• Band material when required.
• Check material for correct sort and matches.
• Attach correct tray tags to trays.
• Place sleeves on trays and move trays to pallets.
• Load mail into bags as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Places pieces of mailings into the hoppers of the inserting machines by the handful.
• Sets up and operates machine to optimum performance.
• Removes inserted envelopes by the handful and places in trays.
• May band material.
• Checks material for correct sort and matches.
• Puts correct tray tags on trays.
• Puts sleeve on trays and puts trays on pallet.
• Sometimes puts mail in bags.
• Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to read and write in English and do basic math.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Requires occasional bending at the waist.
• Requires stooping on occasion.
• Repetitious pinching and gripping. Regularly requires the constant lifting of 15 to 25 lbs.
• Periodically requires the constant lifting of up to 45 lbs. when inserting calendars.

Schedule

This position works from 5:45 am to 5:45 PM, 3/4 days a week, every other Wednesday.
