Job summary

DCG ONE in Upper Marlboro, MD is seeking an Inserter Operator to set up, operate, and monitor high-speed inserters. You’ll handle a variety of mailing jobs daily, ensure accuracy, and comply with USPS regulations for letters and flats.

You will train fellow operators, troubleshoot issues, and maintain equipment across shifts in a production floor environment. This position is Monday–Friday, 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, with benefits including PTO, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with matching, and holiday

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• May be required to complete and pass Public Trust Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand production work orders; communicate with other departments and staff to gather information needed to complete the job.
• Operate Pitney Bowes FPS inserting system / VDP Inline inkjet.
• Operate and maintain a variety of mail production and finishing equipment (high-speed inserters, roll-fed systems, Pitney Bowes meters, stamping equipment).
• Complete setup and change over between job types (A7, #10, 6 x 9, 10 x 13).
• Read and understand job tickets and set machines to meet requirements.
• Familiar with inline inkjet and variable data; match inserting using 2D, 3 of 9, Code 128 barcodes.
• Reconcile jobs in online reporting system; knowledge of USPS mailing requirements.
• Lift up to 35 lbs; stand 8 hours; O/T including nights and weekends.
• Identify maintenance needs; monitor machines and train others.
• Troubleshoot problems, perform repairs, notify supervisor, and communicate with shift operators.
• Follow safety guidelines and HIPAA/FSC company policies.
• Willing to work in other departments if requested.
• Maintain high level of accurate and quality work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to lift 35 lbs, be on feet for 8 hours, overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.
• Identify maintenance needs for machinery
• Monitor the running of machines and train other operators on proper operation.
• Troubleshoots problems and takes corrective action, makes repairs, and notifies supervisor of difficulties.
• Communicates information to other shift operators.
• Works with safety in mind and reports any potential unsafe circumstances.
• Willing to work in other departments if requested.
• Maintains a high level of accurate and quality-assured work.
• Follow and adhere to HIPAA and FSC company guidelines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works on the production floor in an industrial warehouse setting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
