Flyttr is seeking a hands-on entomology‑minded professional to join our team and work daily with insects in controlled rearing environments. You will blend biological observations with data collection and engineering thinking to improve productivity, consistency, and cost‑effectiveness across production systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with insects, entomology, or related biological production disciplines.
  • Degree or equivalent practical experience in entomology, insect science, biological sciences, agricultural sciences, engineering, or related field.
  • Some engineering experience or aptitude for engineering problem solving.
  • Willingness to work hands-on with insects daily.
  • Strong observational and data-handling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work hands‑on with insects in controlled rearing and production environments.
  • Develop understanding of insect behavior, development and production performance.
  • Apply entomological knowledge to practical production challenges.
  • Design and implement data collection methods for biological, environmental and production data.
  • Develop and improve methods for monitoring insect performance and systems.
  • Use data to support experiments, troubleshooting and decision making.
  • Translate observations and datasets into clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists and operators to improve systems.
