Job summary

Flyttr seeks a Group Lead Scientist in San Antonio to lead teams in molecular and entomology research, coordinating with the UK team to meet program goals. You will design experiments, manage outcomes end-to-end, and ensure rigorous data handling and reporting.

You will also supervise staff, uphold safety and SOPs, and drive continuous improvement with a hands-on scientific approach while fostering a collaborative international culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in entomology, biology, or related field.
• Experience managing direct reports is essential.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead molecular and entomology teams to develop engineered strains.
• Oversee lab operations, safety, and SOP compliance.
• Align US and UK project goals; communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Manage performance, coaching, and development of team members.
• Contribute to study design, data analysis, and reporting.
