Job summary

Hartford Hospital is seeking a Wound Care/Ostomy Registered Nurse for the Inpatient WOCN Team to provide expert nursing care for patients with acute wounds, ostomy and continence concerns. The role focuses on applying the nursing process and collaborating with the care team to improve patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will hold a BSN, have or be pursuing WOC certification, and demonstrate weekend coverage readiness.

Qualifications

• BSN required and RN licensure within CT.
• Weekend coverage required.
• Graduate of a WOCNCB-accredited education program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients with complex wounds and ostomy care.
• Collaborates with the health care team to manage skin integrity and ostomy management.
• Educates patients, families, and staff on wound and ostomy care.
• Evaluates patient response and adjusts care plans accordingly.
• Uses protocols and evidence-based guidelines for wound care and ostomy management.
• Participates in orientation, training, and quality improvement activities.
• Documents care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborates with the Inpatient WOCN Team at Hartford Hospital.
