Job summary

Hartford Hospital is seeking a Full Time Wound Care/Ostomy Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Wound Team at 80 Seymour Street. You will provide expert wound, ostomy, and continence care, applying the nursing process and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements include a BSN and current WOCNCB-credentialed education program; weekend coverage is required.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Graduate of a WOCNCB accredited program with current wound/ostomy/continence certification preferred.
• Exceptions to education are considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Recent acute care experience and weekend coverage preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients with wounds, ostomy care, and continence needs.
• Collaborates with the health care team to plan and manage skin integrity and stoma care.
• Educates patients, families, and staff on wound and ostomy management.
• Evaluates response to treatment and adjusts care plans as needed.
• Documents care in the electronic medical record.
• Works with the Inpatient Wound Team to ensure quality care.
