Join to apply for the Inpatient Therapist PRN role at Oceans Healthcare.

Utilizing proven, innovative, and progressive therapies, our qualified professionals promote long-term wellness through inpatient and outpatient psychiatric counseling and treatment options.

The Therapist provides direct clinical services, including assessment, interventions, treatment planning, and discharge planning. They also provide individual, family, and/or group therapy to support patient, family, and group progress in treatment, adhering to standards set by the Joint Commission, Federal and State Regulations, Oceans' Mission, policies, procedures, and PI standards.

Essential Functions:

1. Provides direct clinical services in accordance with accepted standards of social/work clinical practice in a timely manner as outlined by regulations, hospital policies, and PI standards.
2. Plans and conducts individual, family, and/or group therapy as assigned by the Director of Social Services or physician's order.
3. Conducts, assesses, and interprets the completion of the Comprehensive Integrated Assessment (Biopsychosocial) within 72 hours (or 3 sessions) of admission.
4. Reviews all multidisciplinary assessments and compiles a Multidisciplinary Treatment Integration under the supervision of the attending physician within 96 hours (or 4 sessions) of admission.
5. Performs case management and discharge planning as assigned by the Director of Social Services.
6. Attends treatment team meetings when indicated, reporting on patients' progress toward goals, and integrates reports from all disciplines into a summary to facilitate progress.
7. Delivers patient services ethically, respecting patient dignity and satisfaction, and assesses patient responses in a culturally sensitive manner.
8. Assesses and interprets age, disability, and cultural needs; communicates appropriately with patients and families.
9. Conducts treatment and discharge planning considering age, disability, and cultural needs, involving support systems as appropriate.
10. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

Educational / Experience Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include a Clinical Social Worker (CSW), LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Psychologist certification, with 0-1 year of post-graduate clinical experience. Completion of at least two internship semesters, including one with a specific mentally ill population (adolescents, adults, geriatrics), or chemical dependency experience. Training in mentorship will be provided if no prior experience with the assigned population.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Knowledge of growth and development principles appropriate to the patient population.
• Ability to assess and interpret patient data to provide appropriate care, including age-related, disability, and cultural considerations.
• In-depth knowledge of mental illness, chemical dependency, and family dynamics.
• Knowledge of clinical therapy modalities and excellent communication skills.
• Assessment, intervention, treatment, and discharge planning skills.
• Ability to pass the age/disability post-test and complete CPR and behavioral de-escalation training.
• Versatility, flexibility, and stress management capabilities.
• Good organizational and multitasking skills.

Working Environment:

Subject to interruptions, high-paced and stressful situations, with exposure to odors, sights, and unpredictable patient behavior. Approximately 85% or more of the work is indoors, providing protection.
