Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Telemetry Technician for inpatient telemetry at Delnor, on a part-time night schedule. You will perform ECG readings, monitor multiple heart monitors, and ensure valid results through proper lead placement and skin preparation.

The role requires ECG interpretation coursework and CPR – Basic Life Support (AHA). You will join a team focused on patient safety, with two 12-hour night shifts weekly, some weekend coverage, and rotating holidays.

Qualifications

• Proof of successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework
• CPR – Basic Life Support via the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Attaches electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on type of test ordered.
• Prepares skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
• Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintains ECG equipment and supplies.
