A leading healthcare provider in Richmond is seeking an Inpatient Staff Pharmacist to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of drug use for all patients. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and current licensure in Virginia. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a preference for those with pharmacy practice experience. This position involves monitoring drug orders and counseling patients in a fast-paced environment.

The Pharmacist ensures the overall integrity, safety, rationality, and effectiveness of the drug use control process for all patients in the assigned geographic or specialty area, including Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics.
Licensure, Certification, Or Registration Requirements For Hire
Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
Licensure, Certification, Or Registration Requirements For Continued Employment
Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy.
Experience
REQUIRED: N/A
PREFERRED: Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting; previous experience with state-of-the-art drug distribution, clinical service methods, drug information sources, and communication methods.
Education/training
REQUIRED: Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program.
PREFERRED: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program.
Independent Actions
Monitoring, screening, and verification of all drug-related orders for proper dosage, route, form, and schedule; ensuring expedited preparation and dispensing; resolving drug therapy problems; counseling patients; and resolving operational issues.
Supervisory responsibilities: N/A
Additional Requirements
Availability to work evenings, nights, and weekends; physical ability to lift 20-50 lbs; ability to stand, sit, bend, walk, climb, reach; strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, communication, reading, and logical thinking skills; ability to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
