Job summary

Carolinas Rehabilitation's Brain Injury Team provides comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services for adults recovering from traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other acquired neurological conditions. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will perform evaluations and provide therapy to improve communication, swallowing, cognition, and quality of life.

Education/experience: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, current licensure and CCC-SLP, and CFY experience (two years

Qualifications

• Effective oral and written communication with patients and families.
• Ability to work with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and older adult patients.
• Independent performance of clinical skills and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive professional evaluation of patients referred for speech or swallowing disorders.
• Plans and conducts treatment programs for speech, language, voice and swallowing impairments.
• Educates patients and families on communication deficits and treatment options.
• Prepares lectures and teaches speech pathology interns and fellows.
• Coordinates patient caseload to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
• Evaluates assistive communication needs and recommends devices.
• Ensures age-appropriate patient care per guidelines.
