Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at VA Boston Healthcare System seeks a Medical/Surgical Social Work Supervisor to lead clinical case management and discharge planning for Veterans in inpatient care.

You will supervise social work staff, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and drive quality improvement efforts in a fast-paced setting. The role requires MSW from an accredited program, state licensure, and demonstrated supervisory and clinical expertise.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Graduates from candidacy status schools do not meet requirement until accredited.
• Licensure/certification required for independent practice at master's level.

Responsibilities

• Supervise social work staff on acute Med/Surg units.
• Provide clinical case management and discharge planning for inpatient Veterans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and transitions.
• Assist with program planning, performance monitoring, evaluation, and quality improvement.
• Coordinate services with VA programs and community partners.
