Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• CCC-SLP certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
• Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Experience with dysphagia and neurogenic communication disorders preferred.
• Experience with video fluoroscopic swallowing (VFSS) and FEES preferred.
• Orientation period to learn department and hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled speech-language and swallowing services for inpatients and outpatients.
• Examines and evaluates patient’s communication and swallowing function; develops a treatment plan.
• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate therapies.
• Manages patient caseload and documents per policy.
• Maintains timely and accurate documentation of care.
• Supervises graduate interns and supports staff; mentors new employees.
• Trains radiology residents in FEES and video swallow procedures.
• Adheres to age-appropriate care for patients served by Speech and Swallow Service.
