Candidates must hold a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, a current MA license, ASHA certification, and be ASHA members. Prior acute care/LTACH experience and CPR are preferred, with independence in MBSS and FEES

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted license and certification as required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and ASHA.
• ASHA membership required.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least two years of acute care/LTACH/acute rehab experience preferred.
• Independence in MBSS and FEES experience preferred.
• Experience in lieu of degree not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive assessment and management of adult inpatients with swallowing disorders, MBSS, and FEES.
• Comprehensive assessment and management of adult inpatients with acute disorders of speech, language, and cognition.
• Education of patients and caregivers regarding evaluation findings and care recommendations.
• Communicate discharge needs to healthcare team and arrange follow-up as indicated.
• Document clearly and promptly per guidelines.
• Serve as a clinical resource to colleagues and other professionals.
• Stay current with advances in speech-language pathology through CE and literature.
