Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide high-quality nursing care to acutely ill patients in an inpatient setting. The role requires a BSN (or ADN with a plan to obtain BSN within three years), Illinois RN licensure, and BLS certification.

You will collaborate with physicians, families and health-care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. As part of Northwestern Medicine, you will participate in governance, contribute to unit projects,

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with commitment to achieve BSN within three years.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Directs care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff; creates a documented plan focused on outcomes and communication.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents the patient’s responses to nursing interventions and updates the plan of care based on evaluation.
• Uses evidence-based practice to guide care decisions.
