Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care using the nursing process. Preferred BSN and a minimum of 1 year in a specialty setting. The RN must hold a Virginia license (or compact state) and obtain BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Virginia or compact state; BLS within 90 days.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a specialty setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on assigned shift per nursing process.
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and develop care plans.
• Safely administer medications and verify orders.
• Document patient care per hospital policy.
• Educate patients and families and document understanding.
• Coordinate with Clinical Coordinator and Charge Nurse on unit activities.
• Supervise LPN and UAP when assigned and adjust care plans.
• Contribute to infection control and quality improvement activities.
