Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide excellent, clinically competent patient care by using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure quality care and safe experiences in Virginia.

The role emphasizes 12-hour inpatient shifts, adherence to infection control, accurate documentation, and active participation in quality

Qualifications

Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Virginia or a compact state.
BLS certification required within 90 days.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a specialty setting.
BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent, clinically competent patient care using the nursing process.
12-hour shifts for inpatient staff.
Complete comprehensive nursing assessment based on admission history and standard of care.
Plan, provide, and document patient/family teaching and evaluate understanding.
Discharge planning and care coordination during hospitalization.
Safely administer medications and verify orders.
Document patient care per hospital policy.
Supervise LPN and UAP when assigned.
Participate in quality improvement activities within the unit.
Communicate the unit's vision, mission, and goals including dashboards.
