Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for an Inpatient-Delnor Neurology Med Surg Unit. The role is full-time days with three 12-hour shifts weekly, including every third weekend and rotating holidays.

You will assess, plan, and coordinate care for acutely ill patients, collaborating with physicians and the health team while upholding ANA standards. Required BSN, active Illinois RN license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• BSN degree from an accredited program.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities and attention to patient data.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Directs care and determines how to utilize any assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents the plan and communicates care decisions.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and updates the care plan accordingly.
• Utilizes evidence and best practice to guide nursing decisions.
