Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Manager of Respiratory Therapy to lead day‑to‑day operations, develop policies, and drive clinical quality across the department. You will work with Medical Directors and hospital stakeholders to align strategy with annual goals and ensure high standards of patient care.

The role requires 5+ years as a Respiratory Therapist with 2–3 years of supervisory experience, a MA license, and an AMA‑approved Respiratory Care program.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 5 years of Respiratory Therapist experience and 2-3 years supervisory experience.
• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an AMA approved program in Respiratory Care.
• Current MA license as a Respiratory Therapist and NBCRT registration by start date.
• Proficient in data analysis and quality improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Manages employees, including orientation and training and administrative tasks.
• Completes time schedules accurately and on-time.
• Performs QA audits to ensure care quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops departmental policies and procedures and budget inputs.
• Monitors staff performance and enforces standards.
• Oversees equipment maintenance, cleaning and sterilization for patient care.
• Leads education and training for staff; attends physician rounds as appropriate.
• Ensures departmental goals and quality improvements are met.
