Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Manager of Respiratory Therapy to provide technical, operational, and administrative leadership for the department. You will oversee day-to-day operations at the BMC campus, collaborate with Medical Directors, develop policies, and contribute to annual goals and strategy.

The role requires at least 5 years in respiratory therapy with supervisory experience, and a Massachusetts license as a Respiratory Therapist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an AMA approved program in Respiratory Care.
• Requires current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Respiratory Therapist and registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care by start date.

Responsibilities

• Manages employees, performs orientation and training, and conducts administrative/clerical tasks to enable efficient operations.
• Completes time schedules accurately and on-time.
• Performs QA audits to ensure quality of care and compliance with regulatory/accrediting agencies.
• Assists in planning and developing departmental policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitors subordinate performance and takes corrective actions to uphold standards.
• Performs written evaluations of subordinates.
• Coordinates activities for cleaning and sterilizing equipment to maintain supply levels.
• Assists in selecting candidates for employment and supports staff development.
