Job summary

Qualifications

• An associate degree or equivalent is required.
• Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license is required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
• NRP certification required within 3 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Set up, apply, and administer respiratory therapy with the full range of equipment.
• Perform pulmonary consultations and recommend modes of therapy, frequency, and duration.
• Perform basic bedside pulmonary testing and complex tests in the pulmonary function lab.
• Provide education to patients on disease processes and home therapy.
• Assist in training new personnel and oversee staff in the Blood Gas Laboratory.
• Maintain records and support quality control in the department.
