Job summary

Acadiana Management Group, LLC dba AMG-Integrated Healthcare Management (AMG), an employee-owned company, is hiring a full-time home-based Inpatient Rehabilitation Coder. At a minimum, two years’ Inpatient Rehabilitation coding experience is required. Must be certified as an RHIT, RHIA or CCS.

• Two years minimum inpatient rehabilitation coding experience.
• RHIT, RHIA or CCS certification required.
• Strong knowledge of case mix groups and impairment group categories.
• Well organized and able to multi-task.
• Secure work area and reliable internet connection.

Responsibilities

• Attend Zoom coding meetings and weekly hospital team meetings.
• Code ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS for IRF-PAI and UB for all assigned rehabilitation hospitals.
• Review medical records and code clinical data per guidelines and facility policies for multiple facilities.
• Perform initial and concurrent coding of all in-house patients and update diagnosis in information system as necessary.
• Perform final coding on all discharges according to billing policies.
• Initiate timely queries per coding ethics and clinical documentation improvement guidelines.
• Update case management and facility team timely with all changes in CMG.
• Maintain daily communication with hospital team (CEO, MD, Case Management, Clinical Liaison).
• Possess self-motivation with ability to work with limited direction and distraction.
• Proficient in 3M, Microsoft Excel & Outlook.

Job Requirements

• Attendance via Zoom for Coding meetings and weekly hospital team meetings
• Perform ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding for both the IRF-PAI and UB for all assigned rehabilitation hospitals
• Review medical records and code clinical data such as diseases, operations, procedures, and therapies according to coding guidelines and facility-specific policies for multiple facilities
• Perform initial and concurrent coding of all in-house patients and update diagnosis in information system as necessary according to facility policies.
• Perform final coding on all discharges according to billing policies.
• Initiate timely queries per coding ethics and clinical documentation improvement guidelines for any documentation clarification that is needed in the medical record.
• Update case management and facility team timely with all changes in CMG.
• RHIT/RHIA or Certified Coder (CCS) required
• Must have a required minimum of 2 years’ coding experience in Inpatient Rehabilitation with a strong knowledge of case mix groups and impairment group categories
• Well organized and able to multi-task
• Comfortable with maintaining daily open communication with the hospital team: CEO, MD, Case Management and Clinical Liaison’s
• Self-motivated with an ability to work with limited direction and distraction
• Proficient in 3M, Microsoft Excel & Microsoft outlook.
