Job summary

AMG Integrated Healthcare Management is hiring a full-time Inpatient Rehabilitation Coder for a home-based role in the United States. The candidate must have at least two years of inpatient rehab coding experience and hold RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification.

Responsibilities include ICD-10-CM/PCS coding for IRF-PAI and UB, chart review, and coding for multiple facilities. Strong communication with hospital staff and proficiency in 3M, Excel, and Outlook are required.

Qualifications

• RHIT/RHIA or CCS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Inpatient Rehabilitation coding experience with knowledge of case mix groups and impairment group categories.
• Well organized and able to multitask.
• Comfortable with daily Zoom communications with CEO, MD, Case Management and Clinical Liaisons.
• Perform ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding for IRF-PAI and UB for all assigned hospitals.
• Review medical records and code diseases, operations, procedures, and therapies per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Initial and concurrent coding of in-house patients; update diagnoses in the information system.
• Final coding on all discharges per billing policies.
• Initiate timely queries for documentation clarification as needed.
• Update CMG changes with the hospital team.
• Maintain open communication via Zoom during coding meetings and team discussions.
• Proficient in 3M, Excel, and Outlook for daily tasks.

At a minimum, two years’ Inpatient Rehabilitation codingexperience is required. Must be certified as an RHIT, RHIA or CCS. A securework area and internet access are required.

• Must have a required minimum of 2 years’ codingexperience in Inpatient Rehabilitation with a strong knowledge of case mixgroups and impairment group categories

• Attendance via Zoom for Coding meetings and weeklyhospital team meetings
• Perform ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding for both theIRF-PAI and UB for all assigned rehabilitation hospitals
• Review medical records and code clinical data such asdiseases, operations, procedures, and therapies according to codingguidelines and facility-specific policies for multiple facilities
• Perform initial and concurrent coding of all in-housepatients and update diagnosis in information system as necessary accordingto facility policies.
• Perform final coding on all discharges according tobilling policies.
• Initiate timely queries per coding ethics andclinical documentation improvement guidelines for any documentationclarification that is needed in the medical record.
• Update case management and facility team timely withall changes in CMG.
• Self-motivated with an ability to work with limiteddirection and distraction
• Proficient in 3M, Microsoft Excel & Microsoftoutlook.
