Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Charleston, SC is seeking a PRN Inpatient Rehab Registered Nurse to join the team. You will collaborate with patients, families, and rehab clinicians to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while helping patients regain mobility and independence.

Responsibilities include supervising patient care, coordinating with therapy staff, administering prescribed medications, and guiding patients and families on treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required.
• Current RN license to practice in state(s) of endorsement.
• BLS certification within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accountability for assigned patients.
• Assist patient exercises and skin care to prevent complications.
• Coordinate with rehab therapy to improve mobility and ADLs.
• Administer medications per physician orders.
• Instruct patients and families on medications and plans.

Job Summary and Qualifications

In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the Rehabilitation Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the nursing department. You serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and departmental outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

• You will maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients
• You will assist a patient exercise, provide proper skin care to prevent skin breakdown and ensure patients are properly positioned to prevent further immobility
• You will coordinate with the rehab therapy team to provide acute medical management to improve a patient’s loss of or impairment in functional skills such as: mobility, cognition, activities of daily living and communication
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
• < 1 year applicable experience
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
