Job summary

AdventHealth in Tavares, FL is seeking a patient care technician/assistant for night shift. You will prepare rooms, welcome admissions, assist transfers, and ensure patient safety while documenting vital signs and weights.

You will liaise with patients, families and medical staff to maintain accurate records and a safe environment. Responsibilities include specimen collection, reporting changes promptly, and supporting daily living activities as directed by physicians.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms for new admissions and sets up care items.
• Welcomes admissions and orients patients to rooms.
• Transfers patients with assistance from staff.
• Ensures patient safety and proper lifting techniques.
• Documents intake, output, vital signs and weights per policy.
• Collects and labels specimens and sends to the lab.
• Reports status changes to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Acts as liaison between patients, families, staff and clinicians.
• Maintains patient records and unit census accuracy.
• Responds to patient call lights and addresses needs.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient environment.
• Assists with activities of daily living as ordered.

Education

High School Grad or Equiv

Basic Life Support - CPR

CPR Certification (CPCT/A)

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

Emergency Medical Tech (EMT)

NonViolent Crisis Intervention

Certified Health Unit Coordinator (CHUC)
