Job summary

AdventHealth in Tav- county, Florida, is hiring a patient care assistant to support admissions, rounds, and daily care in a hospital setting. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CPCT/A, NCPCT, PCT-C, CNA or EMT certifications required or preferred.
• Strong communication and computer skills for EMR input.
• Ability to document accurately in the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms for admissions and set up care items.
• Welcome and orient new admissions to rooms.
• Transfer patients with assistance between beds and wheelchairs.
• Ensure safety by following proper lifting/transport techniques.
• Document intake/output, vitals and weights per policy.
• Collect and label specimens and send to lab.
• Report status changes promptly to staff.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families and medical personnel.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records and unit census.
• Respond to call lights and assist per skill level.
• Keep environment clean, safe and comfortable.
• Assist with activities of daily living as ordered.
